Collection of Doubts is a multichannel sound installation consisting of 16 speakers handcrafted from dried gourds, which are often used for traditional Colombian music instruments.
The sounds that come from the gourds are echoes from overheard conversations and phrases recorded during a residency at Lugar a Dudas, which is Spanish for ‘place to doubt’.
The sound fragments talk about alienation and the passage of time. The changing tempo with which they are spoken creates a polyphony and an ever-changing story.
