De Belly was a vegetarian open kitchen that started as an ice-cream perlor in September 2016.

De Belly came into being as an answer to the question:

How can we, by organizing ourselves in another way, create new possibilities to generate means and commodities that can support our (individual or collective) artistic practice?

And at the same time can also be an inherent part of our practice, or question it?

The ice-cream parlor sold ice-cream for a free donation, and soon became a well known spot for children in the Borgerhout neighborhood in Antwerp.

De Belly organised workshops, collective cooking sessions, cinema, childrens radio and all kinds of small lecture presenations under the title “Werken Is Misdaad” (”Labour is a Crime”), from 2016 to 2018.
